SONNING pupil Lewis Ward has been selected to play for England U16s in their away match with Germany at the Franz-Kremer Stadium in Cologne on February 13.
Ward, a Year 11 pupil at Reading Blue Coat School who also plays in goal for Reading FC, trained at the new England National Football Centre in Burton-on-Trent earlier this month. At the two-day training camp Ward picked up tips from England goalkeeping coaches Martin Thomas and Simon Smith.
