IT was only a generosity in front of goal that separated Rotherfield from the Oxfordshire Invitational League’s table-topping side Wantage last weekend.
Despite going two goals down in the first quarter of the game United created a number of chances to pull the game back with both Toms and Bird having efforts cleared off the line.
The second period was much the same with Parker, United’s goalkeeper rarely troubled but Ormerod, Barton and Hanton could just not apply the finishing touch. Wantage went on to score their third goal later in the half.
