HARPSDEN ran out winners by 57 runs in an entertaining friendly match at WOODCOTE on Sunday.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat and lost a couple of early wickets before a century partnership between Brandish and Burgess set them on the road to a good teatime total of 224.
Brandish was in particularly fine form as he hit his personal best score of 87. Paul Knox was the pick of the Woodcote bowlers with 5-20 in his seven overs. Mike Stroker and Jonny Aldridge also bowled well.
In reply, Woodcote lost prolific opening pair Fuller and Anderson, and were facing a heavy defeat at 79-6, but a swift half-century from Paul Knox and some strong hitting from Fahad Saeed gave the final score some respectability.
