HENLEY HAWKS U12s maintained their three-year undefeated record when they took a strong squad to the Windsor tournament on Sunday which contained 12 of the best teams in the South-East and once again came away unbeaten.
A strong reputation ensured an interesting draw and although winning four matches and drawing one out of five, with no tries conceded, and the only team not to lose a game, the third place spot was the highest the Henley team were allowed to achieve.
Determined tackling from Sam Quane and Morgan MacRae stood out in a fine defensive performance by all and strong running by Jerome Rocks and Hector Elrington finished off good handling from across the backline.
Henley Hawks U8As put in a good performance at the Windsor mini tournament resulting in comprehensive victories in three of their four pool games with a narrow 9-8 try loss against eventual tournament winners, Rosslyn Park.
After an initial announcement that Henley had failed to qualify for the later rounds there followed a subsequent reinstatement as group runner-up after a recount.
Henley then went on to convincingly beat Bracknell in the Pool A Plate final 6-3.
