Garrett and Mortimer
Published 20/01/14

A MEMBER of Henley Hockey Club’s men’s first team has got married.

Robert Mortimer tied the knot with Christine Garrett on New Year’s Eve at Holy Trinity Church, Cookham.

He is the son of Alan and Anne Mortimer, of Greys Road, Henley, and the bride is the daughter of Mike and Ann Garrett, of Silverdale Road, Earley.

Christine, who was given away by her father, wore a strapless ivory organza gown with matching bolero jacket with diamond belted detail by Justin Alexander.

She had a white fur muff draped in white orchids created by Adam Garrett at Devine’s Rose Bouquet, Cookham. Bridesmaids Pip Gough and Angharad West wore black Audrey Hepburn-style dresses and orchid corsages.

The flower girls were Casey Garrett and Caitlin Barrass and the page boys were Sean Garrett, Oli Garrett and Zack Barrass.

There were two best men, CD Rowley and Mat Bundy, and the ushers were Ross Horne and Richard Woolfrey.

The service was conducted by the Rev Canon Michael Smith, pastor of York Minster, and was followed by a reception at Bel and the Dragon, Cookham.

The couple had a honeymoon in Sri Lanka and will live in Shinfield, Reading.
