EMMER GREEN progressed to the quarter-finals of the Berks and Bucks Cup on Sunday.
Despite dominating for much of the half, it was the visitors who took the lead just before the interval. Against the run of play Wrightchoice forced keeper Mark Compton to pull off a fine save tipping the ball on to the crossbar only for the visitors to head home the deflection.
In the second half Wrightchoice, unbeaten in the league this season, went further in front thanks to a fine solo effort from one of their strikers.
Emmer Green pulled a goal back from the penalty spot when skipper Daniel Donegan netted after Matt Fox was pulled down in the area. Soon after Dave Mortimer equalised for the hosts.
Wrightchoice started to pile on the pressure but with each shot and attempt on goal came an equally impressive save from keeper Mark Compton.
The hosts took the lead when a defence splitting pass found Bartosz Rochatka who neatly fired home. Soon after Chris Read headed home his seventh of the season to put Emmer Green 4-2 ahead.
Emmer Green will entertain the winners of the Barton Rovers versus Ibis match in the quarter finals.
