THE Berkshire Cricket League have elected a new chairman ahead of the new season.
Eddie Lunn was elected at the annual general meeting on Monday and will replace Woodcote’s Sam Peates who has held the post for the past four years.
Peates, who for the last two years has combined the jobs of chairman and secretary, continues in the role of secretary and first point of contact for the clubs and other agencies.
Lunn is a highly experienced professional cricket administrator, having recently retired from a post with ECB.
The new chairman will be well-placed to lead the league’s response to an ECB nationwide survey arising from concerns about the decreasing participation in recreational cricket and the demise of increasing numbers of cricket clubs nationally.
For the new season Peppard and Stoke Row have merged to form one club, as has Crowthorne and Crown Wood.
