Wightman leads way going into last match
Published 10/03/14

THE 12th and penultimate leg of the Remenham Winter Series was held at Whitehouse Lake near Tadley on Sunday.

Dave Wightman drew on the island and fished the pole at 11 metres with pellet to land a mixture of small carp, tench and bream for a winning total of 26lb 8oz.

In the next peg was Pete Bowles who also fished the pole with pellet and weighed in 14lb 2oz of bream and roach and in third place was Mark Bowerman with 6lb of skimmers and roach.

The previous week windy conditions welcomed the anglers as they fished Lens Lake at Milton Pools.

Graham Dodd fished the pole between seven and eight metres with caster targeting the silver fish stocks and catching 180 roach plus skimmers for a winning total of 38lb 10oz.

In the next peg Dave Wightman fished the pole with pellet at 14 metres landing two carp along with roach and skimmers for 36lb enough for second place and in third place was Steve Johnson with 25lb of carp and skimmers all caught on the method feeder with pellet.

With just one leg in the series remaining and with each angler dropping their two lowest results the top three are well ahead of the pack with Wightman leading the points with 195 followed by Dodd with 185 and Dick Shillitto with 176.
