Ferretti at the double

THE first individual men’s trophy of the season took place at Henley Golf Club recently and this proved successful for 13 handicapper Peter Ferretti when he recorded a net 68 to claim the trophy. Keith Brockington took second spot with a net 69 on countback from Nigel Woolven.

Chris Maxted recorded three birdies in his round on his way to fourth spot with a net 70 which was a shot better than John Bates.

Ferretti kept his form going in the monthly medal when he recorded a net 69 to claim Division 2 of the competition on countback from Woolven. Euan Fenwick was third with a net 71. The top division was won by Alan Gaffney with a score of net 64. Ben Postlethwaite recorded a net 69 to take second place which was one shot better than Chris Maxted. Kenny Roderick took Division 3 with a high score of net 74 which was a shot better than Jeffrey Carter in second place whilst Cliff Austin, Stephen Brown, Paul Thomalla and Neil Elliott were fighting out the minor placings with net 76s.

The ladies held their monthly Stableford last week and Muriel Quinsac took Division 1 with 36 points which was two points better than Rachel Hall and Maggi Buffin. Caroline Archibald took Division 2 with a score of 36 points which was three points better than Harriet Wynn-Jones and Fay Ahara.

Division 3 was claimed by Maria Clift with a score of 35 points which was a point better than Jacquie McCourt and Gail Edwards whilst Martine Keenan had the best score of the day, 39 points to take Division 4 which was seven points better than runner-up Elaine Dudeney.
