Wargrave play host to trophy encounter
Published 12/05/14

BERKSHIRE have named an unchanged team to face Staffordshire at Wargrave on Sunday in the Unicorns KO Trophy (11am).

It is a must-win game for the trophy holders, who are looking to bounce back following their 59-run defeat by Oxfordshire at Bicester.

A year ago they lost their first Group 4 game before going on to win this one-day competition and they are hoping history will repeat itself.

But, they are already under pressure, as Oxfordshire and Herefordshire both won their first two games.

The top two sides from each of the four groups qualify for the quarter-final.

Staffordshire already look out of contention following defeats at the hands of Herefordshire and Oxfordshire.

This will be the first time Berkshire have played at Thames Valley League club Wargrave’s ground in Recreation Road.

The Berkshire line-up is as follows: Michael Roberts, David Barnes, Harry Stephens, Richard Morris, James Morris, Euan Brock, Stewart Davison, Matt Carter, Robbie Williams, Tom Nugent, Gurveer Singh. Replacement: Matt Stevenson.
