Bulls kwik to record first festival trophy

SHIPLAKE Primary School ran out winners of the fifth annual Primary and Prep Schools Kwik Cricket Festival held at Shiplake College.

Ten schools competed in the festival including Henley’s Trinity, St Mary’s, Valley Road and Sacred Heart as well as Nettlebed, Crazies Hill, Caversham’s Hemdean House and Churchend and Geoffrey Field from Reading.

The schools made up 12 teams with 100 pupils competing in in a format of round robin league matches, thereafter, the tournament featured a knockout stage and finals.

In the final Shiplake Primary Bulls defeated Trinity Kites by 198 points to 109 to lift the trophy for the first time.

The final’s star performers, Oliver Doyle and Henry Scrimshaw-Wright, led the way for Shiplake Bulls with good all-round bowling and batting performances.


The event was organised in partnership by the college and coaching specialists Performance Cricket.
