AS part of Abbey’s new coaching structure, which will see the club push for a return to the Southern Counties League, former physio Mike Dye has been appointed strength and conditioning coach.
Dye has already embarked on a mission to get the club’s members fitter and healthier by delivering fun and challenging fitness sessions to all of the club’s senior members at pre-season training.
Variety is proving to be a key element in his style with sessions taking place in the club’s gym facility or out on the pitch with a ball in hand.
Returning first team captain Sam Hallett commented: “Mike has already made a big impression on all the club’s members that are currently at pre-season. He has created a real buzz about getting fitter regardless of the level of rugby you want to play and it’s great to see a mixture of young and old, men and women, enjoying the positive atmosphere at the club.”
Dye will be continuing his work with the club throughout the season and encourages players of all abilities and experience to join in at Rosehill, Emmer Green where the club train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.15pm.
