RETURNING golfer Tony Hayden-Cadd ran out winner of Henley Golf Club’s 36-hole handicap medal for the Lovell Bowl.
After the morning round six handicapper Alan Freke was leading with a net 68 on countback from Anthony Allen. Alan Wilson was third with a net 69 on countback from vice-captain Stewart Mills and Hayden-Cadd.
For some of the players the afternoon proved to be a challenge and Hayden-Cadd, who has just returned to the golf club after a two year sabbatical from the game, recorded a net 71 which along with his morning round gave him a total score of level 140 which was a point better than runner-up Alan Wilson.
Andrew Carmichael was third with net 143 which was a shot better than Simon Blackwell and Ian Heggie.
The ladies’ section held their monthly medal in conjunction with qualifying for the Roquette Cup.
Maggi Buffin took the Silver A division with a net 70 whilst a net 74 by Rita Sharman-Crawford was good enough to take Silver B. Bronze A division was won by Margaret Simister with a net 69 whilst Sheila Needham’s net 73 was good enough to secure Bronze B.
The result meant there were places in the Roquette Cup competition for Maddy Field, Janet Lawson, Jane Atkin, Maria Clift, Sally Woolven, Rachel Hall and Gail Henderson.
