THIS year’s Woodcote 10km race will take place next Sunday, starting from the village green at 10.30am.
Runners will follow a circular route through the countryside around the village, climbing and descending almost 500ft. There will be two water stations and hot drinks will be given out at the end.
There will be trophies for the winner and three highest placed men and women as well as the first runners in the junior, over-40s, over-50s and over-60s categories. All finishers will receive a medal. All participants will be chip-timed.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Pangbourne, which will take half the proceeds and distribute them to local good causes. The other half will go to the Prostate Cancer Research Centre in London.
Online and postal registrations close at midnight on Monday. There will be some entries on the day but space will be limited. Entry is £16 with a £2 discount for affiliated club members. Visit www.woodcote10k.org.uk
