READING defender Alex Pearce, who was sent off after just 10 minutes during his side’s 2-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, will be available for this weekend’s showdown at QPR after having his dismissal overturned.
After the game Reading manager Nigel Adkins studied video evidence of the dismissal and lodged and appeal with the FA.
The Royals defender was dismissed for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity during the game in which a penalty was awarded that led to Wednesday’s opener. However, video evidence showed Pearce was not the last man as Kaspars Gorkss was tracking back.
Today (Wednesday) an independent regulatory commission came to the conclusion that Pearce’s dismissal was wrongful and the appeal was upheld.
