PETE BOWLES holds a narrow lead with one round remaining of the Remenham Summer Series.
Oakfield Fishery was the venue for the ninth leg. Steve Johnson took top spot landing a dozen carp on the pole with meat over groundbait on the inside for a total of 70lb 4oz.
Second place was Ade Bowles with 28lb of carp caught on similar tactics and in third place was Trevor Pearce with 26lb 10oz of carp and skimmers caught on the pole at five metres with meat and corn.
The following week, it was Campbell’s Lake at Milton Pools that was fished with the 10th leg of the series.
Pete Bowles won convincingly with 215lb of carp caught on the pole short at six metres with meat and pellet.
Graham Dodd was second, fishing similar tactics on the far side of the lake and weighing in 128lb 6oz of carp.
With one round remaining and with each angler counting their best eight results so far Bowles has 146 points while second-placed Graham Dodd has 144.
Trevor Pearce is in third with 134 points, Dick Shillitto fourth with 130 and Steve Johnson 122, making up the top five.
