DAVE WIGHTMAN’S second place finish in Remenham Angling Society’s final winter series match on Campbell’s Lake at Milton Pools was enough for him to secure the title on Sunday.
Mark Bowerman fished the pole at 14 metres and across to the adjacent bank with red maggot and corn and landed a number of small carp and skimmers for a winning total weight of 72lb 14oz. Wightman was runner-up with 69lb 14oz of carp caught at 16 metres on the pole with pellet and in third was Steve Johnson with 59lb, 14oz of carp.
Section winners were Graham Dodd with 47lb 6oz and Pete Bowles with 50lb.
Wightman’s second place secured top spot in the series with 214 points ahead of Dodd in second with 201 and Dick Shillitto in third with 191. Fourth place went to Ian Chaplin with 159 and Johnson finished fifth with 139.
