Match win for Dave

THE penultimate match in the Remenham Summer series took place at Whitehouse Lake near Tadley on Sunday.

Dave Wightman drew on the island and fished the pole at 10 metres with maggot and corn, landing skimmers and tench before switching to the inside and catching several carp to weigh in a winning total of 46lb 4oz.

Close behind in second place was Ian Chaplin with 45lb 2oz of carp, skimmers, tench and small barbel caught on the pole at 14 metres across to the back of the island with pellet.

In third place was Pete Bowles with 27lb 10oz of skimmers, tench, carp and barbel caught on the pole with meat and maggot.

With only one round remaining and with the best 11 results from 13 for each angler counting Geoff Edwards has an unassailable lead in the series with 193 points with Pete Bowles 168, Chaplin 165, Dick Shillitto 160 and Trevor Pearce 150 jostling for minor placings.
