A SECOND place finish in the final Remenham Chairman’s Trophy fished at Rolf’s Lake near Wheatley was enough to give Graham Dodd the title on Sunday.
Going into the match just one point separated the top two anglers Dodd and Dick Shilitto.
Brian Bowles landed a carp of 13lb 12oz just five minutes before the final whistle on the pole with corn on the hook and with a few small roach and perch weighed in a total of 14lb 5oz which was enough to secure victory on the day.
In second place was Graham Dodd with 10lb 15oz consisting of one bream along with roach and skimmers, all caught on the pole with maggot and caster. In third place was Roger Howard with 8lb 13oz of roach and skimmers.
With each angler dropping their two worst results from the 13 fished, Dodd’s second place was enough to see him win the series with 203 points. Shilitto finished second with 199 and Roger Howard third with 169.
