THE Bohun Gallery is showcasing work by some of their most popular and enduring artists throughout December and January.

This year marks the gallery’s 40th anniversary, and while they usually display a selection of Small Paintings at this time of year they are breaking with tradition and presenting work by artists and sculptors who have been working with them since 1994.

Gallery manager Katie Newman said: “The exhibition provides plenty of opportunities for acquisitions in the run-up to Christmas. With sculpture starting from just £295 there are some very real opportunities to acquire original works of art by some of the UK’s leading sculptors. For anyone looking for an artwork to hang on the wall, the variety is infinite.”

All genres are covered in this show, from the abstract landscapes of Colin Bishop to the photo-realism of Ben Johnson. Still life also features, with work by Eric Rimmington and there are also portraits by Tai-Schan Schierenberg, who was recently seen on television as a judge for the Sky Portrait of the Year award.

Ms Newman added: “Even if you have already visited the show, it will be well worth a second visit from December 14 when we include new work by Eric Rimmington, Maggi Hambling, Eleanor Fein and many more.

“This mixed exhibition offers a very real opportunity to view and purchase paintings and sculpture by artists who would normally only be found in London galleries.”

The exhibition is a revolving show with the continual addition of new paintings and sculptures.

The exhibition, 40 Years of Fine Art, part II, closes on January 25.
