Picasso & Dali prints to be auctioned for charity

SIGNED prints of works by artists including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali are to be auctioned for charity at Phyllis Court Club in Henley each night during the royal regatta

SIGNED prints of works by artists including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali are to be auctioned for charity at Phyllis Court Club in Henley each night during the royal regatta.

They are being sold by charity auction company Superstars, of Newtown Road, with the proceeds going to South and Vale Carers Centre and Helen and Douglas House.

Superstars owner Tim Terry said: ?There are no shops in the local area selling this kind of stuff.

?We have managed to get it through our relationships with various art dealers and they will be put into the auction at a hugely discounted rate. They would go for £2,000 or £3,000 at a gallery but we will be doing them for £800 or £900.

?We?ve been going for 12 years now and work with a lot of charities running silent auctions. This is the third time we have done the auction at Phyllis Court Club. There will also be an online auction.?

Each print was taken from an original matrix made by the artists.

Mr Terry said: ?They are all original prints as the matrix was created by the artist himself. Each one prints about 150 copies but these are also signed so they are very rare.?

The online auction can be accessed at www.jumblebee.co.uk/phylliscourt-auction
