Football club talks

A MEETING is to be held to help improve relations between Benson Parish Council and the village’s football club.

Councillor Stephen McCann told a council meeting that there had been a good deal of “misalignment” between the two over the years.

He said there needed to be clarification on the parish council’s strategy towards the club as well the club’s financial contributions and obligations for use of the pavilion, including the tea bar and grass cutting, and its access to other grant funding and payments to the Football Association.

It was agreed that Cllr McCann and parish clerk Dianne Brookes would meet representatives of the club.
