Mixed fortunes for Whiting

HENLEY and District Billiards League saw the culmination of their season on Monday with their finals night held at Earley Home Guard Social Club.

In the team final (Peter Piggott Cup) the two teams contesting the final ended
4-4 so a further deciding frame was required with Eric Day of Racks just edging out Dave Morris of Park Snooker Club.

All three individual finals were won by a margin of less than 10 points. In the Jack Hedley handicap competition, it was an all-Trinity Hall affair with Chris Winterton winning against Ian Whiting 200-191.

Whiting did have cause for celebration as he was victorious in the Championship competition narrowly beating Paul Tegg from Twyford 300-292.

In the Frank Pepall Seniors Cup, Alan Grainger from Racks just did enough against Chris Parsons, winning 200-195.
