AMERICAN novelist Tracy Chevalier gave a sold-out talk at Lady Sew and Sew in Henley.
A total of 100 people attended the lecture and question and answer session at the warehouse, off Reading Road, on Wednesday.
Chevalier spoke about her latest book, The Last Runaway
, which strongly features quilts.
Members of Maidenhead Quilters had put together an exhibition of the patterns mentioned which she referred to.
The Last Runaway
is an account of a young English Quaker girl in 1850s Ohio and her moral dilemmas whilst helping runaway slaves along the Underground Railroad, a secret network to safety in Canada.
The quilt exhibition is running at Lady Sew and Sew until Tuesday. For more information, visit ladysewandsew.co.uk
