AN American investor has bought the company that owns Hotel du Vin in Henley.

AN American investor has bought the company that owns Hotel du Vin in Henley.

Private equity firm KSL Capital Partners, of Denver, has taken over the Malmaison Group.

The group operates 27 hotels across the UK, including the hotel in New Street.

Malmaison’s previous owner, London property developer MWB Group Holdings, went into administration in November.

KSL has promised to invest “significantly” in Malmaison’s portfolio but has not announced specific plans.

The company owns a string of luxury resorts across America. It bought its first UK property, the Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, in August.

No one from the Henley hotel was available for comment.
