A TRIO of Henley-based specialists have announced the formation and opening of a new property company for the area. Brookstones Property Solutions, the brainchild of local businesswomen Christina Smith and Kim Herrington, opened its office on Bell Street this week.

As an independent property agency, Brookstones offers clients a full range of residential lettings, property management and commercial property services.

Christina and Kim are joined in the venture by Nick Smith, an experienced chartered surveyor who will manage the commercial property side of the business. Together, the trio brings more than 30 years of experience in residential and commercial property management in the Henley and surrounding areas.

From launch, Brookstones is offering a full range of residential services including residential lettings, property management, portfolio/asset management, investment property search, property refurbishment, development advice and project management together with a portfolio of commercial services including freehold and leasehold sales, freehold and rental valuation advice, retail/office and industrial lettings, tenant acquisition and disposal.

Christina, founder and managing director of Brookstones, said: “I live in the Henley area and feel that the town and surrounding villages will continue to offer huge potential to both landlords and tenants alike over the coming years. I am passionate about property, about delivering the best service for landlords and delivering a positive experience for tenants. I feel that as a true independent I can fulfil this passion.”

Brookstones is Henley’s only independent lettings agent. The company philosophy — “Your property, our priority” — is founded on the belief that clients should be dealt with on a personal basis. The team prides itself on being approachable and welcoming and has a proven track record in getting results. The philosophy is reflected in the Brookstones fee structure — including a flat-fee for renewals which compares favourably to percentage-based fees which can typically be in excess of £1,000. They believe this should enable landlords to have better control of their finances with no nasty surprises along the way.

Christina has worked in the lettings industry since 1998 and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the rental and property market in and around the Henley area.

She started her career in an independent letting agency and then acquired property management in 2004 where she established a successful practice.

She is well respected in the community not only for valuations and letting properties, but in helping to locate and identify potential investment opportunities for landlords.

Christina has a proven track record in enhancing clients’ assets by advising, arranging and dealing with contractors for refurbishment works to release the full potential of rental properties.

Kim has lived in Henley for more than 20 years and has worked in the property and lettings industry since 1997, after starting her career in sales.

Her strengths in administration and management of rental properties, with the associated legislation and compliance that is necessary, ensure a smooth and worry-free tenancy for landlords and tenants.

Nick is a qualified chartered surveyor and a member of the RICS. He has trained and worked for large London agencies for the past seven years, including acquisition and disposal projects for clients such as Sainsbury’s, Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal Mail, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Sue Ryder.

Having grown up in Henley Nick intends to combine his broad national experience with an in-depth local knowledge, to the benefit of local commercial landlords.
