HENLEY’S Christmas shop window display competition has been launched.

Retailers are encouraged to decorate their stores in keeping with this year’s theme of a Dickensian Christmas.

Each entry must also highlight the business’ own trade or profession.

Judging will take place at 10am on December 10. The best display will win £100, a bottle of champagne from Hotel du Vin in New Street and the Perpetual Challenge Cup.

The second and third placed entrants will also win champagne and cash prizes of £75 and £50.

For the first time this year there will also be a public vote via Facebook, which will be open from December 6 to 31.

There will be another prize for the winner of this section, which is called Dressed For Success and has been organised by town centre manager Peter McConnell.

The competition is sponsored by Milton Gordon and Co, Precious Love jewellers and Hotel du Vin,
