Put everyone in the picture about your great places to live

ROMANS, which has its local branch in Hart Street, is once again running its “The Local Picture” photography competition.
The idea is for budding photographers to showcase their home town and demonstrate why it’s such a great place to live in a single photo.
If this seems like something you’d like to take part in, to give you an idea of what judges are looking for, last year’s first place winner was Nick Board with his shot of Reading entitled A lull in proceedings.
Entrants can win up to £500 in House of Fraser vouchers — on top of which they can nominate a local charity of their choice to receive a donation of up to £2,000.
Romans first opened in 1987 so the estate agency knows our local area extremely well, but it says it always wants to learn more about what makes each town so special to the people that live there.
“Whether it’s a local landmark, beautiful landscape or eyecatching architecture, everyone loves different things about their home town,” says Antony Gibson, residential sales director at Romans.
“The Local Picture gives you the chance to show us what really matters to you and what makes you love your town, as well as supporting local charities.”
The photography competition is open to anyone aged 18 and over, whether you’re a professional or an amateur.
You can only enter one photograph, so make sure it’s your best one.
Three winners will be chosen by judges and one will be chosen by the public, so even if you don’t enter you can still vote for your favourite photos.
The closing date for entries is Monday, June 20.
