You could be at ceremony

THE 2017 Sue Ryder women of achievement awards ceremony will be held at Trunkwell House in Reading on Friday, March 10 from 11.30am to 5.30pm.

The event will include lunch and entertainment and will be presented by Jonty Hearnden, an antiques expert who has appeared on Antiques Roadshow and Cash In The Attic.

There are seven award categories: woman of achievement in business; woman of achievement in the community; woman of achievement in education; woman of achievement in sports; woman of achievement in services; young woman of achievement; and the Sue Ryder Courage Award. There is also an internal award for staff and volunteers at Sue Ryder hospices.

The ceremony will be attended by double Olympic rowing champion Heather Stanning, last year’s winner of the sports award and an ambassador for the 2017 awards, and fellow 2016 winner Fl Sgt Emma Rousell, of RAF Benson.

Tickets for the ceremony cost £50 each or £450 for a table of 10 and are on sale until Tuesday, February 28.
