A DEMENTIA awareness group hopes to open a branch in Goring.
The national Dementia Friendly project will hold an introductory meeting at Goring community centre next Friday (March 21) from 10am.
The NHS-funded scheme aims to make towns and villages more welcoming for people with dementia and teach residents how to help them.
Those who sign up will be offered two free training sessions. They will then be encouraged to come up with ideas to help local sufferers and will receive ongoing advice.
A spokesman said: “Dementia-friendly communities are places that people can visit and feel comfortable about their memory problems. This is a project for all members of the community and not just those affected.”
