A FAMILY from Kingwood Common raised more than £1,500 for charity during a moonlit walk.
David and Josie Colin and their children, Izzy, 14, Scarlett, 12, and 10-year-old Finn, walked 10.2 miles from Wallingford to their home in Colmore Lane to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
They were joined by family friends Matthew and Virginia Davis, of Church Lane, Peppard, and Izzy’s friend Tillda Money-Kurle.
The group set off at 10pm and arrived at 3.30am where they had a cup of tea and watched the sunrise.
Mr Colin said: “That last hour was tough and I am proud of the children for doing something that had no immediate personal gratification and was genuinely uncomfortable for me, let alone a 10-, 12- and 14-year-old. They will all remember the walk in a good way for years to come and I think they will feel proud of the fact that they have raised so much money by doing something as daft as walking though the night.”
