A MAN who grew up in Gallowstree Common scaled 15 mountains for charity.
David Davies, 32, who now lives in London, completed the Vegan Welsh 3,000 in less than 16 hours.
The 55km race, which is part of the Sky Runner Series, takes in all mountains in Wales over 3,000ft and must be completed within 24 hours.
It began at Snowdonia and ended at Foel-fras.
Mr Davies, who works for a telecoms company, was one of 65 out of the 106 starters who completed the race.
