Jazz keeps winter blues at bay

WINTER is now upon us down on the river. The log fires are roaring and the mulled wine and winter Pimm’s are flowing in our cosy candlelit bars.

Our new seasonal menu will be introduced shortly and features local game — including pheasant in marsala with celeriac mash and spiced red cabbage.

There’s also a fabulous venison casserole as well as fish and charcuterie sharing boards and “Tom’s” amazing pies. Not forgetting our Sunday roasts, featuring sirloin of beef, leg of lamb and half a roast chicken, all served with homemade Yorkshire puddings, roasties, parsnips, carrots, cauliflower cheese, cabbage and bacon, and proper homemade gravy.

We still have availability for your Christmas party and our River Room overlooking the Thames is the perfect spot for parties up to 40.

Live music also features tonight (Friday) at 9pm with Paula Archer and Friends as part of the Brakspear Jazz and Blues Week taking place arond the town. Next Friday (November 18) we host the hugely talented Niall Kelly Trio. Not to be missed — and it’s free.

Finally, don’t forget our hugely popular free New Year’s Eve party with our DJ Gary Boys on the decks until late into the evening.

We are open every day through the festive period, offering great service and wonderful food and drinks in a cosy pub atmosphere, so we look forward to seeing all our friends both old and new.
