Stonor House is opening to the public for the first time in 850 years later this month

Stonor House is opening to the public for the first time in 850 years later this month

WE have been really busy this year and delighted to welcome so many visitors old and new to Stonor House and park.

We wanted to do something special to celebrate the festive season, so for the first time in our 850-year history, we are opening the doors to the house. Each room will be beautifully decorated with the essence of Christmas past, with the log fires burning and spice in the air.

You will not be able to miss the traditional Christmas tree in the Gothic Hall, the sitting room and dining room where the family celebrate each year, and see if you can spot the Christmas stockings in the bedrooms.

Be prepared to be enchanted by the magic of Christmas in all its grand and sparkling glory.

Delicious food and drinks will be available throughout the day at the Stonor Pantry, our vibrant café in the 13th century hall, including festive turkey pies, shortbread, mince pies and mulled wine, to name but a few.

Plus our gift shop adjacent to the pantry will be open for those still looking for something to put into that Christmas stocking or pillowcase.

The doors open from 10am to 4pm each day. To avoid disappointment, we would recommend where possible to book tickets in advance. We are happy to take groups and pre-order of food is possible for groups..

The house is open from Friday, November 25, to Sunday, December 4. The booking line for advance tickets is (01491) 638587. For more information, email enquiries@stonor.com or visit www.stonor.com

We are also delighted to announce that from November 25 to 27, Country Homes & Interiors magazine will be hosting a Christmas fair on the front lawns.
