THE Bix Six and friends are a group of local artists and craftsmen that have been hosting their annual Christmas show in the last weekend of November for a decade now. The show is very popular in the area and has some loyal visitors including the odd celebrity.
The artists cover many different disciplines, exhibiting a wide range of work — including artist John Parrey with his arts and crafts-inspired jewellery and wood carvings, photographer Tracy Florance showing her new work from her latest trip, Midori’s new additions to their range of eco-friendly soaps, Debbie Page’s eastern inspired sculptural ceramic work, Alistair Phillips’s functional woodwork and Lynda Hopkins’s sensational paintings and drawings.
The Bix Six is also famous for its handmade cakes and teas — the proceeds from which will be donated to the Wyfold Group Riding for the Disabled Association.
The mixture of arts, crafts, teas and cakes at the beautiful Bix Common setting has created a cosy, relaxed atmosphere making the Bix Six’s shows a popular local event.
The Bix Six and friends’ Christmas show will be on the weekend of November 28 and 29 from 10am to 5pm at Bix Village Hall.
