Gingerbread houses, Christmas pressies and wise men on trains

Gingerbread houses, Christmas pressies and wise men on trains

ON Sunday, December 11, the Hambleden Valley group of churches’ nativity play will again be staged at Fawley Hill Railway Station with music and, of course, a train.

Santa will be popping in to hand out gifts to the children while adults drink mulled wine and eat mince pies — and it always snows!

This year there will also be plenty to occupy families earlier in the day. From 12.30pm the beautiful Victorian carousel will operate and market stalls will include the fabulous pop-up bakery, Compassionate Loaf, where you can stock up on delicious artisan breads and Christmas treats.

There will be antiques, decorative gift items and Christmas decorations on sale along with mulled wine, coffee and snacks. Profits from the bakery, visitors’ and stallholders’ donations will be shared by the Chiltern Centre, Fawley Church and Kasisi Orphanage, so come along and give while having fun.

A gingerbread house workshop for children begins at 1.30pm. Each child will take home a beautifully decorated gingerbread house.

Book with Eileen Unwin at gokidshenley@hotmail.com. The Nativity begins promptly at 4.15pm. Make sure you are on the platform by 4pm — you wouldn’t want to miss the train!
