Daffodil teas raise £250

ABOUT £250 was raised by the daffodil teas held in Pyrton last month.

The annual tea, run by St Mary’s Church, took place over two weekends instead of the usual one.

Churchwarden Jenny Lockwood said: “There wasn’t as many people as we would have hoped for but you can’t blame people for not turning out when the weather is bad. However, we were encouraged by how far people had come.”

She said the daffodils in the churchyard don’t yet look their best due to the cold but she was hoping for an improvement by mid-April.
