THE Hambleden Valley Railway Nativity is to return next month
THE Hambleden Valley Railway Nativity is to return next month.
It will take place at the station in the grounds of Sir William and Lady McAlpine?s estate at Fawley Hill on December 15 and raise money for charities.
Last year, the event was cancelled due to timetabling issues.
Lady McAlpine said: ?We supply the music, train, mulled wine or apple juice and children?s drinks ? we rely on contributions of mince pies. Father Christmas has a tendency to arrive with a sack of small gifts so do make sure we have lots of children here.
?Please bring as many angels and shepherds as you can and be here from 3.30pm as we start promptly at 4pm.?
Rev John Wigram, rector of the Hambleden Valley group of churches, said: ?Do join us for a unique celebration of the Christmas story which unfolds on the station platform at Fawley Hill.
?We hear and watch the Christmas story in a setting from the heyday of steam and sing familiar carols accompanied by the Saxidentally.?
Charity donations will be collected at the gate. The proceeeds will go to the Railway Children charity, the St Matthew?s Children?s Fund and Fawley church.
