Two year 4 classes from Trinity Primary School and one each from Badgemore and Valley Road primaries took part in the event, together with three professional singers from a capella quintet Apollo5.

The Badgemore pupils sang Food, Glorious Food from Oliver! and the Valley Road children sang Believe by Lin Marsh. One class from Trinity sang Amazing Egyptians by Suzy Davies and the other sang Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody.

Finally, they came together with Apollo5 to perform Emeli Sandé’s Read All About It and Old Abram Brown by Sir Benjamin Britten. The concert was organised by the Henley Educational Trust and Voces Cantabiles Music and was funded by money left to the trust by its former clerk Mary Clarke.

Organiser Amanda Heath said: “The children were a little fidgety in rehearsals but on the night they stayed perfectly still and sang beautifully.”
