THE memoirs of a former vicar will be published this month.

Lost and Found in the Pulpit was written by Rev Canon John Ratings, documenting his 37 years at St Mary’s Church in Wargrave.

Mr Ratings, of Autumn Walk, died last November after a short illness, aged 77.

More than 600 people attended his funeral at St Mary’s Church in Henley.

He began writing the book after his retirement in 2008 and the manuscript was finished by his widow Barbara, a former teacher at the Piggott School in Wargrave, after his death.

The book will go on sale on Tuesday, November 24, the first anniversary of Mr Ratings’ death, and will cost £10.

It can be bought from Victoria News in Victoria Road, Wagrave, the village library, the Bell Bookshop in Bell Street, Henley, or at St Mary’s Church, Wagrave, following the Sunday service.
