HENLEY could send some trees to its Slovenian twin town of Bled.
Fierce snow storms have hit the country, bringing down trees, causing power cuts and disrupting public transport.
Steve Bennett, who chairs the Henley and Bled Twinning Association, said: “I am going suggest to the association that we go out there with a few trees to give them some support. I think that would be a nice gesture and they might want to send us some sandbags in return!”
Mr Bennett, a solicitor who lives in Henley and has a house in Bled, said the weather there was starting to warm up again.
He said: “They have been working around the clock to clear fallen trees brought down by the snow. We can’t replace a mature tree overnight but we will get there.”
