HIGH-flying chief executive Michelle Fuller (Emma Stone) seems to have it all as the powerhouse of a large company. However, when conspiracy theorists, beekeeper Teddy Gatz (Jesse Plemons) and his cousin Don (Aidan Delbis), deem her responsible for destruction of the Earth’s bio-habitats, they decide she must be an alien from another planet and resolve to kidnap her.
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the black comedy Bugonia (15), out today at the Regal Picturehouse in Boroma Way, Henley, poses many questions on both sides of the equation.
The film also stars Stavros Halkias, Alicia Silverstone and Cedric Dumornay and has a running time of just under two hours.
Also out is hugely popular film Kpop Demon Hunters: A Sing-Along Event (PG), about a world-famous girl group who secretly go about their other business, before finding out about a demon boy band.
Directed by Chris Appelhans and Maggie Kang, the film stars the voices of Arden Cho as Rumi, May Hong as Mira, Ji-young Yoo as Zoey, Ahn Hyo-seop as Ji-noo and Yunjin Kim as Celine, as well as Daniel Dae Kim and many more. It has a running time of one hour and 40 minutes.
In The Mastermind (12A), directed by Kelly Reichardt and set in Seventies Massachusetts, Josh O’Connor plays James Mooney, an out-of-work husband and father who takes it upon himself to plan an art heist as a way to make money. However, he hasn’t really thought about the aftermath and he has to go into hiding.
The film also stars Alana Haim, Hope Davis, John Magaro, Gaby Hoffmann and Bill Camp and has a running time of one hour and 50 minutes.
Continuing are Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (12A), Pets on a Train (PG) and Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie (U).
