FILMGOERS in Henley have a chance to influence which productions are shown on the big screen.
The Regal Picturehouse is a host cinema for crowdsourcing website OurScreen. The website works by allowing fans to choose from a list of 300 new and classic films to programme into specific cinemas. Once the film has been chosen the nominator must generate enough ticket sales for the film to be shown.
In Henley the first film to be selected is Northern Soul, chosen by a user called Lily L. The screening has been created for November 9 at 11am and Lily L needs 27 more people to sign up before November 2 for the film to be shown.
Northern Soul is a British film featuring Steve Coogan, Ricky Tomlinson, Christian McKay and Lisa Stansfield, tells the story of two friends in 1974 whose horizons are opened up by their discovery of Black American soul music.
