Showing at the Regal Picturehouse this week:

Summer In February (15)

Summer In February (15)

Starring: Dominic Cooper, Dan Stevens, Emily Browning

All eyes will be on Downton Abbey heartthrob Stevens in this true tale of love, liberty and scandal set in an Edwardian artists’ colony in Cornwall.

The Cornish coast is beautifully photographed but the movie may be a bit wet for some tastes.

The Iceman (15)

Starring: Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, Ray Liotta and Winona Ryder

Shannon plays Richard Kuklinski who is hired as a hitman by New Jersey gangster Roy Demeo (Liotta).

Shannon, who won acclaim for his parts in thrillers Take Shelter and Premium Rush, makes a convincing psychopath.

Behind The Candelabra (15)

Starring:Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Rob Lowe, Debbie Reynolds, Scott Bakula

Douglas gives a brilliant depiction of outrageously camp entertainer Liberace in this biopic. The script is adapted from a biography written by Liberace’s live-in lover and assistant, Scott Thorson, played by Matt Damon.

By turns sad, uncomfortable and funny — but hugely entertaining, with excellent performances by the two leads and the supporting cast.

Before Midnight (15)

Starring: Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy

Romantic drama sequel to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. We meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on a train bound for Vienna.

The film has been hailed as a charming, and very welcome, new chapter in one of cinema’s most beguiling ongoing romances.

NT Encore — The Audience (PG)

Cast: Helen Mirren, Edward Fox

Helen Mirren is back as the Queen, this time in a recording of a live performance at the Gielgud Theatre charting her private interviews with prime ministers across the ages, from Churchill to Cameron.

Mirren won an Olivier award for her stage performance, and this screening broke all records when it was relayed live in June this year. A must-see for Mirren or royal fans.
