Fair share

Strawberry plants and lemon drizzle cake were among the goods to be traded at a food

Strawberry plants and lemon drizzle cake were among the goods to be traded at a food swap in Wargrave. Eight people attended Apples for Eggs at the Local Larder at Val Wyatt Marine, off Willow Lane. They swapped produce including fresh fruit and vegetables before staying at the marina to talk and share coffee. Nothing is allowed to be paid for and everything has to be the value of a six-pack of eggs. Organiser Suri Poulos said: “It was lovely. We are not a big group but we enjoy it. We are always looking for more people and everyone who comes along always says it’s so friendly. It’s a lovely community event with a great atmosphere.” The next food swap will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 10.30am to noon.
