A NEW networking group is launching this month in Henley.
The Henley Female Networking Group has been established to bring together women for conversation, connection, community, growth, inspiration, learning and support.
Each month the networking, hosted by life and mindset coach Harriet Barcella, will welcome a guest speaker to inspire, challenge and provoke conversation.
There will be plenty of time for individual and group conversations around the topics with an emphasis on making connections, both professionally and personally.
The first event, which will take place at Leander Club from 9am to 10.30am on Friday, January 27, will feature guest speaker Jacki Hill-Murphy.
Jacki is an explorer, teacher, author and speaker who has spent the last few years exploring and filming some of the most inhospitable and remote places on earth.
In 2007, she left her job as an English and drama teacher to pursue a life of adventure and now lives with the aim of inspiring people through the lives of great women and to promote adventure and the outdoors.
She has had three books published.
Jacki’s most recent project has been to recreate the journeys of the early female explorers, spurred on by the fusion of amazing unsung women from history and her love of travel.
Future guest speakers include Niki Schäfer, an interior designer who chairs the Henley Business Partnership, and Imogen Walsh, GB rower and manager of Boats not Bars, an initiative to use rowing in the rehabilitation of prisoners.
Tickets cost £20 each, which includes a continental breakfast, and the proceeds will benefit the Chiltern Centre in Henley, a charity dedicated to empowering young people with disabilities to live life to the full.
Host and founder Harriet Barcella says: “This is an event that brings together all the things that I love the most — supporting women, connection and community, the opportunity to keep learning and growing and the chance to raise money for a cause that I’m passionate about.
“We are so excited to have Jacki as our first speaker — she is a truly extraordinary woman and such a fitting guest for our first event. I for one can’t wait to hear her talk.”
