Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh

MEMBERS of the Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh welcomed Anthea Tilsley, president of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, to the club’s annual district rally on April 9.

After a pre-rally supper the previous evening, the rally began with a service of thanksgiving at Sonning parish church.

Members and guests then made their way to the Mill at Sonning for a lovely meal, wine and much chatter with members from other Inner Wheel clubs in the district.

Anthea lit the candle of friendship (which is lit at every meeting) and cut a cake with Hilary Tindall, the club president.

The cake was made specially for the occasion to celebrate the centenary year of Inner Wheel, which was founded in the UK and is now a worldwide organisation.

The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh meets at Sonning Golf Club on the third Thursday evening of every month and welcomes new members to join in the fun, take part in activities, raise funds for charity and support the local community.
