OUR annual charity meeting was held in May and the charity this year was the Samaritans.
The chairman opened the meeting and welcomed five visitors.
Marion Whitaker gave details of an open gardens scheme to raise funds for the development at Christ Church.
Heather Clark gave details of a visit to Highgrove. Audrey Richardson asked if any members would be willing to become drivers for the Henley Volunteer Bureau.
The chairman then welcomed the two speakers, Hilary Messer and Barbara Norman, from the Reading branch of the Samaritans. The first speaker spoke about the history of the charity, which was founded 60 years ago by a retired chaplain, Chad Valah.
