Men flock to rugby club... but not for a match

ONE hundred men attended a prostate cancer awareness event at Henley Rugby Club.

The event, which was organised by Henley Lions Club, was free to men over 50 and involved a five-minute presentation by an urologist and a blood test.

The men were all screened and their samples sent to hospital for analysis.

Consultant urologist Dr David Baxter Smith will review the test results and send every man a letter with advice.

Club chairman Mel Williams, 72, is a prostate cancer survivor and the theme for his year in office is to help people fighting cancer.
