THE March meeting of Henley Ladies’ Probus Club was very well attended with many guests present to hear the heartbreaking lifestory of John Fieldsend.

He was one of the children travelling on Nicholas Winton’s Kindertransport trains to England following the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939 and the efforts of his parents to protect the rest of the family for as long as possible.

The club meets on the morning of the second Thursday of each month at Badgemore Golf Club. New members are always welcome. For more information, please call Marion Whitaker on (01491) 628629.

The next meeting will be on April 11 when the subject of the talk will be A Tiger In The Bathroom And Bullets Up The Chimney.
